Driveways in Fort Collins
We pour heavy-duty, steel-reinforced concrete driveways designed to survive Fort Collins winters and expansive clay soils.

Concrete Driveway Paving
If your driveway is cracked, settling into the lawn, or flaking from winter salt, investing in new driveways in Fort Collins gives you a clean, flat parking surface that protects your vehicle suspension and restores your curb appeal. You shouldn't have to dodge sunken concrete edges or scrape ice out of deep potholes every winter. We tear out failing asphalt or shattered concrete and pour thick, reinforced driveways engineered to handle heavy pickup trucks and local weather extremes.
Building an exterior slab along the Colorado Front Range requires careful sub-base engineering. Fort Collins soils have high concentrations of expansive bentonite clay that swells when soaked and shrinks when dry. If a crew pours concrete directly over raw dirt, the ground heaves during spring freezes and snaps the slab. We excavate deep, remove weak native soil, and mechanically compact a thick base of Class-6 aggregate. We also tie in structural steel rebar grids elevated on chairs so the steel sits right in the middle of the slab rather than sinking to the dirt.
Our mix designs incorporate air-entrainment additives approved by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association. Those microscopic air pockets give freezing moisture room to expand without blowing apart the concrete surface during our intense Chinook temperature swings. After placing the mix, we cut deep control joints at exact mathematical intervals so natural curing shrinkage stays hidden in the joints. Hugo personally oversees every pour on-site, and we back all our flatwork with a 3-year warranty. If you want decorative curb appeal alongside your driveway, we also install matching stamped concrete borders and patios.

Why Choose Us
Why Our Driveways Last Longer
Compacted Base Rock
We don't pour over loose soil. We excavate native bentonite clay and roll in crushed Class-6 road base to give your driveway a solid, unyielding foundation that resists seasonal ground settling.
Tied Steel Rebar Grids
We place structural steel rebar tied on chairs in a square grid throughout your slab instead of relying on lightweight wire mesh, holding your driveway together under heavy truck loads.
Freeze-Thaw Mix Design
We pour high-strength mixes with 5% to 7% air entrainment, creating tiny internal cushions that let trapped water expand during hard freezes without causing surface scaling or spalling.
Precision Control Joints
We measure slab dimensions and cut deep contraction joints within hours of finishing, directing all natural stress relief straight into neat, straight lines instead of wild spiderweb cracks.

Pricing Guide
What Affects Driveway Cost
Driveway Size and Thickness
Driveway installation pricing depends on slab dimensions and required thickness. Standard residential driveways are poured 4 inches thick, while RV pads and heavy equipment aprons require 6 inches.
Old Surface Removal
Removing existing concrete, thick asphalt, or heavily root-damaged slabs requires heavy machinery and disposal fees that factor into your initial site preparation budget.
Drainage and Grading Work
Properties with steep slopes or poor natural runoff require extra excavation, retaining curbs, or swales to steer water away from your garage door and home foundation.
The Contractor You Choose
Hiring a bonded and insured contractor protects your property. Hugo's Concrete carries full Colorado licensing, a BBB-accredited reputation backed by a 3-year warranty.
