7th St Garage Epoxy Floor Transformation in Windsor, CO
- Completed: September 2025
- Windsor, CO
Project Summary
This Windsor homeowner contacted us after being referred by his next-door neighbor. We had completed his neighbor’s garage epoxy project the year before, and he was so happy with the results that he recommended Hugo’s Concrete. The new client’s old garage floor was cracked, uneven and full of small holes that made it difficult to use and unattractive to look at.
Our goal was pretty simple: turn a damaged concrete garage floor into a smooth, properly leveled, and long-lasting epoxy system that not only fixed the structural issues but also made the garage look brand new.
Design Goals & Client Priorities
The homeowner’s key priorities included:
- Structural repair: All existing cracks, holes, and dips had to be patched and leveled before any coatings could be used.
- Durability: The new surface needed to stand up to daily car traffic, yard equipment, and Colorado’s weather extremes.
- A clean, modern look: The garage should feel like an extension of the home, not a boring storage space.
- Low maintenance: The coating system should resist chemicals, oil, and salt while being fairly easy to clean.
Referral confidence: Since his neighbor was extremely satisfied with his garage, he wanted to see the same high-quality, professional result.
What We Did
Step 1: Floor Preparation
Garage epoxy systems are only as strong as their preparation. We:
- Mechanically and manually ground the concrete to remove surface contaminants, old coatings, and weak concrete.
- Vacuumed and cleaned the area thoroughly to ensure proper bonding.
- Patched and filled all cracks and holes with premium industrial grade repair materials.
- Carefully leveled dips and uneven areas so the final finish would look flawless.
Step 2: Base Epoxy Coat
We applied our industrial penetrating epoxy primer coat designed to soak into the repaired concrete, creating a strong bond and sealing the base against moisture and chemicals.
Step 3: Decorative Flake System
To give the homeowner a modern and a slip-resistant finish, we broadcasted decorative vinyl flakes across the wet epoxy. These durable flakes not only add a flawless texture and safety but also create a unique, beautiful appearance that hides minor imperfections and elevates the look and style of the garage.
Step 4: Final Epoxy Topcoat
Finally, the project was finished with a durable epoxy topcoat, which locked in the flakes and sealed the floor surface. This clear coat adds gloss, depth, and long-term protection against chemicals, hot tires, and everyday wear and tear.
Project Results
The garage floor went from damaged and unsafe to smooth, level, and stunning floor. The homeowner was very pleased at how our epoxy system completely changed the feel of the garage, no more cracks, no more uneven sections, and no more stained, deteriorating concrete.
He now has:
- A garage floor that looks brand new, matching the quality of the rest of his house.
- A floor built to last 15–20 years with minimal maintenance.
- Extra safety thanks to our slip-resistant flake system.
Peace of mind knowing Hugo’s Concrete delivered the same top-notch quality his neighbor experienced with 10 years warranty!
Why Epoxy is Perfect for Windsor Garages
Living in Colorado means dealing with seasonal extremes: freezing winters, very hot summers, snowmelt, and highway salt. Most concrete floors can quickly crack, pit, and deteriorate under these conditions.
Epoxy solves this by:
- Sealing the concrete surface from water and salt damage.
- Resisting all types of chemicals and oil so stains wipe away easily.
- Adding durability against tire marks, wear and tear, and heavy use.
- Creating a stunning look that elevates the entire garage.

FAQ: Garage Epoxy Floors in Windsor, CO
How long does epoxy last on a garage floor in Colorado?
With our professional prep and installation, epoxy floors last 15–20 years before needing re-coating again.
Can epoxy cover cracks and holes?
Yes. We patch, grind and level the concrete first, then apply the epoxy system to create a seamless, durable finish.
Is the epoxy floor slippery?
Not with flakes. Decorative flakes provide solid traction, making epoxy floors safer than bare concrete.
How long before you can use the garage again?
Most epoxy systems cure within 24–48 hours, though we recommend waiting at least 72 hours before parking vehicles.
Is epoxy better than concrete polishing for Colorado garages?
For residential or commercial garages, epoxy is often the better choice because it resists chemicals and offers a nice look. Polishing works best for warehouses, shops, and interiors.
