Project details
- Location: Wellington, CO
- Service: Stamped and colored concrete patio
- Base: Gravel sub-base over compacted ground
- Reinforcement: #3 rebar
- Concrete: 4,000 PSI air-entrained mix with fiber, colored at the plant
- Finish: Stamped texture, washed and sealed a week later
How we did it
- Removed the old topsoil, graded the ground and compacted the base.
- Added a gravel sub-base for drainage and tied #3 rebar.
- Poured an integrally colored 4,000 PSI air-entrained mix with fiber and vibrated it by hand to remove air pockets.
- Stamped the surface with a professional texture mat once it reached the right firmness.
- Came back a week later to wash the patio and apply a sealer.
The result
Because the color runs through the full depth of the concrete, the tone is even everywhere, and the stamp gives the surface grip as well as texture. The sealer deepens the color and protects it from moisture. See our stamped concrete work or browse more of our recent work.
