Stamped and Colored Concrete Patio on Harbor Walk Ct in Fort Collins, CO
This Harbor Walk Court backyard had tight access, uneven ground full of roots, drainage problems near the house and a large mature tree the homeowners wanted to keep. They also planned heavy outdoor furniture and a fire pit, so the slab had to be stronger than usual.

Project details
- Location: Fort Collins, CO
- Service: Stamped and colored patio with a walkway and fire pit area
- Texture: Natural flagstone stamp
- Reinforcement: #4 rebar throughout
- Drainage: Gutter extensions run under the patio
- Design: Custom circular opening around the tree
The challenge
Every part of the plan had to fit a tight space with limited room for equipment. Loose soil and exposed roots needed careful grading, water near the house needed somewhere to go, and the patio, walkway and fire pit area had to read as one design.
How we did it
- Removed the loose soil, leveled the area and compacted the ground.
- Ran gutter extensions under the patio footprint to carry roof water away from the house.
- Added a reinforced base layer and used #4 rebar in place of #3 to carry the furniture and the fire pit.
- Measured the root zone and built a custom circular form around the trunk, with extra compaction around its edge.
- Poured, colored and stamped the patio with a flagstone texture, joining it to the new walkway and the fire pit area.
The result
Bare, uneven ground is now a finished outdoor room with a walkway, a dedicated fire pit area and the tree as its centerpiece. Designs like this are where stamped concrete earns its keep; browse more of our recent work for other patios.
