Why the homeowner called
He had seen the floor we finished next door and asked for the same result. His slab had cracks, dips and pitting that made the garage hard to keep clean and unpleasant to use.
How we did it
- Ground the slab mechanically and by hand to remove contaminants, old coating and weak surface concrete, then vacuumed it clean so the coating would bond.
- Filled every crack and hole with an industrial repair material and leveled the low spots so the finished floor would sit flat.
- Rolled on a penetrating epoxy primer that soaks into the repaired concrete and seals it against moisture and chemicals.
- Broadcast decorative vinyl flakes into the wet epoxy for texture, grip and a finish that hides small imperfections.
- Sealed everything under a clear epoxy topcoat that adds gloss and protects against oil, road salt and hot tires.
The result
