Project details
- Location: Greeley, CO
- Completed: June 2025
- Service: Walkway and patio installation
- Base: Compacted gravel, laid in several passes
- Reinforcement: #4 rebar
- Concrete: 4,000 PSI mix with fiber, from a ready-mix plant in Loveland
- Finish: Broom finish with a smooth border
The challenge
The yard was graded unevenly and had soft areas, so the ground had to be checked and corrected before any concrete went in. Skipping that step is how slabs settle and crack through Colorado's freeze and thaw cycles.
How we did it
- Inspected the soil, removed the unstable material and corrected the slope.
- Brought in a gravel base and compacted it in several passes.
- Set the forms for the walkway and the rounded patio and tied #4 rebar through both.
- Poured a 4,000 PSI mix with fiber, broom finished the surface and tooled a smooth border around the patio.
The result
The walkway now curves from the covered porch out to a patio with room for a table and chairs, and the whole yard is usable again. This is the kind of patio we build across Northern Colorado; browse more of our recent work in Greeley and nearby towns.
