Side Yard Sidewalk and Walkway on Aruba Dr in Fort Collins, CO
A homeowner on Aruba Drive wanted a safe, solid way to get from the side of the house to the backyard. We built a reinforced sidewalk along the house and a walkway that curves out to the lawn.

The challenge
The route along the side of the house was a narrow strip of dirt between the wall and the fence. Whatever went in had to move water away from the foundation, not toward it, and hold up to foot traffic in every season.
How we did it
- Excavated and compacted the path along the house and the extension toward the lawn.
- Laid and tied rebar through the full length of both sections.
- Formed the layout and set the grade so water runs away from the foundation.
- Poured the concrete and gave it a broom finish for grip in wet and icy weather.
The result
